with My Proven Study Plan, Strategy and Tips!

    Project Management Tips and Tricks

I know it's 2025 already, you might have set up more than 25 goals for this amazing time period! However, life happens and then we fall short behind to fulfill some of those. Don't you worry child, see heaven's got a plan for you (and it's through me! 😜). Act like a Project Manager from today with the proper mindset and apart from hacking the PMP tricks, you'd be able to achieve the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification along with other goals hopefully. To get a brief idea of this blog in short, you can watch my YouTube Vlog where I briefly talked about similar tactics.

PMP is one of the most sought-after credentials for project managers worldwide. As someone passionate about structured workflows and continuous learning, I decided to take on the challenge.  It of course wasn't easy for me either and a lot of people spend months (even years) doing so, because of the lack of proper guidelines. For me, quality of preparation was more important that the quantity or hours of overthinking. With focused preparation, discipline, and a strategic approach, you can even pass it in a month or two as I did. In this article, I’ll walk you through my step-by-step journey—from eligibility check to exam day—along with the mindset, techniques, and resources that helped me succeed.

    PMP Certificate Hosney Mobarok Fahad

    Step 1: Checking PMP Eligibility

Before applying, I reviewed PMI’s (Project Management Institute) website which is the most trusted and authorized platform for the exam or any kind of information and you can do the eligibility check directly through their website for criteria .

Step 2: Applying for the PMP Exam

Once you meet the requirements, you have to create an account on PMI’s website and fill out the application. PMI asks for details about your project experience, including role, responsibilities, and outcomes. If you're a student, you can enroll for the Student Membership to get additional discounts on the exam fee (Usually it costs around USD 600+ to sit for the exam, but it's USD 420 - 450 for students.)

Education: Having an MBA degree helped meet the educational requirement anyway, however, a bachelors or anything equivalent along with some work experience (mentioned below) could be good enough too.

Work Experience: I documented 3+ years of project management experience from BRAC Bank, Asiatic Experiential Marketing, and Kids Park BD to meet the required 4,500+ hours or 36 months to be exact. Don't worry if you don't have a direct project management experience (I didn't have either!). You can always show relevant experiences which aligns with any Project, for a total of 3 years in the last 8 years.

Training: Usually, you need to be enrolled in a 35-hour PMP training course from an ATP (Authorized Training Partner) to fulfill PMI’s education requirement. You can get it at as low as $15 from some trusted sources like Udemy! I personally didn't need one, as I already had a Project Management core course during my MBA which accounted for 40 hours (minimum 35 hours needed).

Once I met these conditions, I applied through PMI’s online portal. The application review took about 5 days, and I was approved without an audit! Let's show you the sample below: 👇

    Eligibility Sample for PMP exam

My Sample for PMP exam eligibility

📌 Key Considerations for Application Approval:
✔ Clearly define your project management role in alignment with PMI’s domains (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, Closing).
✔ Use PMI-compliant terminology (e.g., “led stakeholder engagement,” “managed project risks,” etc.).
✔ Ensure project experience is non-overlapping to meet the required months.

💡 Pro Tip: Use Chatgpt (or any other AI) to find the exact keywords as the eligibility goes through AI to determine if you can sit for the exam. After getting a sample, replace some words with your own knowledge and experience. PMI might randomly audit applications. Be prepared to provide supporting documents like certificates or references from past employers.

Step 3: Developing a PMP Study Plan

Once my application was approved, I started talking to my experienced and more knowledgeable friends to get insights from them. I highly suggest you also choose an idol (or 2-3 maximum) to follow their tips and tricks including routines. Don't blindly follow everyone's suggestions as different strategies work differently for people and it might just confuse you more. I personally followed two super talented human beings named "Andrew Ramdayal" and "David McLachlan" for being updated about everything related to PMP. Or simply you can follow Hosney Mobarok Fahad (me) for a more chilled-out personalized approach! Just kidding 🙆

I personally designed a structured 10-week study plan as I was eager to complete it before the year ends to deal with my laziness and boredom. I was working part-time then, so it was relatively manageable to do so. If you're busy with other commitments in life, I again would recommend you to take maybe somewhere around 3 to 6 months to make it practically possible and not get bored. Improvise your plans with theories and YouTube/ educational videos accordingly.

My PMP Study Strategy: What Worked for Me

    📚 Study Materials I Used:
I followed a structured study plan using multiple resources. You can use more/ less than those or mix up with your own strategies. I personally didn't complete most of them rather took the gist and understandings and made my own notes:

📖 PMP Exam Prep (Recent Edition) by Rita Mulcahy, PMP (Any other book from any other renowned writer should be fine as long as it carries essential easy explanations followed by exercises to practice.
📖 PMBOK Guide (7th Edition) – Essential but dense; only used as a reference.
📘 Agile Practice Guide – Crucial for Agile-related terms & questions (optional).
📱 AR Udemy Course by Andrew Ramdayal – Highly recommended for simplified explanations and exercises if you have to choose only one option out of all these options.
🎥 YouTube Videos (Ricardo Vargas, Andre Ramdayal's PMP Mindset and Problem-solving series) – Helped understand tricky concepts, REALLY REALLY helped a lot.
📝 Study Notes & Flashcards – Key for memorizing formulas and terminologies

📅 My Routine and Time Management:

🔹 Weeks 1-4: Read PMP Exam Prep (Recent Edition) by Rita Mulcahy. There were 14 chapters, each of which I finished in 2 days (14 X 2 = 28 days). Take necessary breaks when needed (I even partied one of those days randomly to stay in the loop 🙊). Meanwhile, glanced upon PMBOK Guide & Agile Practice Guide to understand the framework.

Just a reminder that at this point of time, I started doing a 2nd part-time job and most of the days, I'd just come back home after 12-13 hours and still kept on pushing myself to study for at least 2 hours as I had roughly little over 1 month left to give the exam. On harder days, I'd just fall asleep out of tiredness, but still kept on going, even if I'd wake up at 3am at night! That's in other words known as DEDICATION! So, get your ass back to this track if you really want to pass!

🔹 Weeks 5-6:  I often used to get distracted and demotivated by life pressures at this phase. To make things look psychologically easy-going, I started solving exercises from the same book of Rita Mulcahy while watching Youtube video lessons by Andrew Ramdayal to still keep going, and took notes.

🔹 Weeks 7-8: Practiced 2-3 mock tests weekly using exam simulators during the break time of my work. You just need a phone and internet connection and lots of motivation to do that!

🔹 Weeks 9-10: Focused on weak areas, reviewed PMBOK formulas, and kept on working on my mistakes.

    PMP Question solvingPMP Exam Flashcard

    To summarize this part:
    📅 Weekdays/ Working-days: 2 hours of study (1 or 2 chapters + 20-30 practice questions).
📅 Weekends/ off-days: 4 combined hours of deep focus (mock exams + reviewing weak areas).
🎯 Final 2 weeks: 80% focus on practice tests and revising incorrect answers and creating the PMP mindset.

A disciplined approach helped solidify key concepts and increase confidence before exam day.

💡 Tip: The PMP exam isn’t about memorization—it tests your ability to apply concepts to real-world scenarios. Focus on why rather than just what. This in other word, known as PMP Mindset.

Step 4: Adopting the Right Mindset & Techniques

    Key Strategies I Used:

✅ Active Learning Approach: I created flashcards, summarized concepts in my own words, and taught others to reinforce my understanding. You can also grab a partner who's preparing just like you to motivate and test each other. Unfortunately I couldn't get any, so chose I myself instead. 😎
✅ Mock Exam Analysis: I didn’t just take mock tests—I reviewed every incorrect answer to understand gaps in my knowledge. If you don't want to spend anything just like I didn't, you can still get free YouTube videos and resources to test yourself.
✅ Time Management Practice: The PMP exam is 230 minutes for 180 questions. I tried answering questions within 75-80 seconds in the real exam. However, please keep a week in your hand to simulate real exam conditions. I couldn't do that and it made me nervous on the exam day for a while!
✅ Stress Management: A healthy routine, including exercise and meditation, helped me stay focused and calm.

💡 Tip: The PMI exam often presents situational questions. Always think from a PMI perspective—focus on stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and ethical decision-making.

Practicing PMP Questions & Mock Exams
🔥 Biggest Lesson: PMP is 50% knowledge, 50% mindset.
Instead of memorizing, try to practice as many questions as you can. You can take help from:
✅ PM PrepCast Simulator – Closest to real exam difficulty.
✅ Tia PMP Practice Tests – Strong Agile and hybrid scenario questions.
✅ David McLachlan’s and Andrew Ramdayal's Free YouTube Questions – Quick and insightful.

I aimed for 75-85% in mock tests before sitting for the real exam.

Step 5: Taking the PMP Exam

I scheduled my exam at a test center to avoid any technical issues during an online proctored test. The exam structure included:

🔹 People (42%) – Leadership, team management, and stakeholder engagement
🔹 Process (50%) – Agile, predictive, and hybrid methodologies
🔹 Business Environment (8%) – Compliance, risk management, and strategy alignment

    Exam-Day Tips:

✔ Stay calm & trust your preparation. Take deep breaths before the exam. Early morning schedule might help you stay fresh and focused with less distractions. Wearing Blue might help a lot of people calm down too!
✔ Use the 10-minute break wisely. Refresh your mind after 60 questions. Taking a break will immensely help you refocus and I highly recommend that. Go to washroom, try to take deep breath, if possible, stretch a little bit which will provide more oxygen to your brain!
✔ Flag uncertain questions but move on. Avoid spending too much time on a single question.

💡 Tip: If you’re unsure of an answer, eliminate the wrong choices first. This increases your chances of selecting the correct option.

    PMP Exam day strategy

    Add-ons:
✔️ Paced myself with the 60-60-60 strategy (3 sets of 60 questions).
✔️ Flagged tough questions but didn’t spend too much time.
✔️ Followed PMI's mindset—chose answers that aligned with servant leadership & stakeholder collaboration.

The result? PASS with Above Target in all domains! 🎉

    PMP Exam Day

Step 6: Receiving Results & Lessons Learned

After completing the exam, I received my congratulatory message immediately! Usually they'll hand you over a sheet mentioning whether you passed of failed (don't get a mini heart attack! YOU'VE GOT THIS!🎉

    PMP Exam Result

✅ Key Lessons from My PMP Journey:

🔹 A structured study plan is crucial—don’t try to cram everything in the last few weeks.
✨ Focus on the PMP Mindset—Think like a project manager.

🔹 Practice with high-quality mock exams (like PMI-authorized simulators). Mock tests are your best friend.
✨ Don’t Overcomplicate—Use simple explanations to understand concepts

🔹 Understand Agile & Hybrid approaches thoroughly—they dominate the new PMP exam.
✨ Stay Consistent—Even 1-2 hours of daily study makes a difference.

🔹 Exam day strategy matters—maintain a steady pace and manage stress effectively.

Would I do it again? Yes! The PMP journey was intense but rewarding, opening new career opportunities.

If you're preparing for PMP, stay focused, trust the process, and you’ll succeed! 💪

    Final Thoughts & Next Steps

The PMP certification has significantly boosted my confidence and opened doors to better career opportunities. I got immediately promoted in my current workplace as a Full-timer! 😎 My next step? Applying my PMP knowledge to real-world projects and mentoring aspiring candidates.

If you’re considering taking the PMP exam, I hope my journey helps you navigate the process. Feel free to connect with me if you have any questions! You can add me in LinkedIn or other socials mentioned in my blog. I usually reply within a day or two!

  • Brewing My Canadian Adventure: Getting into the most premium coffee shop!

Brewing My Canadian Adventure: Getting into the most premium coffee shop!

    Starbucks Adventure

    Introduction

Three months ago, I embarked on a turning point of my life in Canada, leaving behind the familiar comforts of my home country. With a head full of dreams and a heart full of excitement, I had no idea where this roller-coaster would take me but was sure about it being my adventure of a lifetime! Little did I know, within just two weeks of my arrival, an opportunity would come knocking – a chance to work at the world-renowned premium coffee haven, Starbucks in Safeway, King Edward Mall in Vancouver 🤩.
Before moving forward, see this little trailer of my experience as a barista!

    A Barista's Journey Begins

I'll never forget the day I walked into Starbucks for my job interview. One of my friends suggested me to carry my CV along the way while I was just planning to do some grocery shopping. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted through the air, and the warm, inviting atmosphere instantly made me feel at home while casually entering the store of Safeway. The interview went well, and soon I found myself donning the iconic green apron as a Starbucks barista in spite of the job scarcity in the city. I was more than overwhelmed with everything, specially the Barista Passport in hand! 🥺

    Starbucks Guide passport

    Learning the Art of Coffee

As a newcomer, I was eager to immerse myself in Canadian culture, and what better way to do that than through the freshly brewed premium coffee? Over the course of a few weeks, I delved deep into the universe of coffee, learning the intricate details of espresso, pour-over, and cold brew. The modern equipment and machines might seems a little complicated initially, but this is what differentiates this store to serve you faster one by one. Plotted as number 1 in the following picture is the machine which brews the coffee while 2 is the grinder used before that. This is mostly used from drip coffees (Dark or just Pike coffees).

Coffee beans on the other hand are placed in 3, and the buttons in front of it decides whether it will pour Blonde, Espresso, Blonde or just Restratto shots. 4 in the picture is just the steamer which makes the magic of foam and makes it hotter.

    Starbucks Machines

My colleagues became my mentors, patiently teaching me the art of crafting the perfect cup of joe for almost all the struggles I faced in different phases. I finally came to know the difference between Latte (comes with less foams and more coffee) and Cappuccino (comparatively more foams). I quickly became friends with everyone in the field and started making fun and drinks in teams.

    Starbucks Employees

    Capturing the Moments

Along this journey, I couldn't resist capturing some of these coffee moments. From the mesmerizing swirls of steamed milk in a cappuccino to the beautiful latte art that graced the cups, I began to document my experiences through photographs. These snapshots not only remind me of my journey but also showcase the artistry that goes into every cup at Starbucks. I made this small video on my brief experience at Starbucks!

Another thing you all should know is the size of the cups in the following picture. The hot cups (pic 1) comes in the shapes of Kids, Small, Grande and Vente and the Cold cups follow the pattern of Small, Grande, Vente and Trenta. If you don't specify your orders accordingly, it will automatically be a Grande cup for you by default. Picture 2 shows a unique strategy that they follow for cleaning things. The right basin is for washing anything manually, and the left one is for sanitizing those. Middle one is the show-stopper, which cleans any glass or container instantly when you place them upside down.

    Starbucks Cups and cleansers

    Exploring Coffee Culture

One of the most rewarding aspects of my newfound career is the opportunity to interact with people from all walks of life. Coffee shops are hubs of conversation and connection, and I've had the privilege of meeting incredible individuals, each with their unique coffee preferences. Canadians take their coffee seriously, and I'm learning to appreciate the diversity in taste and brewing methods. The best part is that I enjoyed standing at the cash, taking orders from them with smile and making a joke with them which would make a dull day fun even for a few moments with the sip of the drinks. They sure loved my humor more than the coffee. 😛

    My Favorite Coffee Recipes

Through my time at Starbucks, I've had the chance to master some of the most beloved coffee recipes. You have to remember that most of the drinks come in either hot or cold form. Some of them are widely categorized with names like Refreshers (frozen or Iced with water/ lemonade), Frappuccino, Hot Tea or coffee (or even the iced one!) along with some delicious food to have by side:

Refreshers: Whether you're having a bad day or sweating after a busy, sunny day, you can always (almost) safely choose among the few refreshers with variations in taste and ingredients or real fruits. It can enhance and refresh your mood for the rest of the day, reason why they are named liked that. Some of my most favorites comes with strawberry (Frozen Strawberry Acai Lemonade) or dragon fruit (Mango Dragonfruit Refresher) with the recipes below:

    Starbucks Refresher

Frappuccino: If you're tired with the plain bland taste of the refreshers and looking for something more exciting, go with the other cold options with the combination of appropriate coffee and set your mood accordingly with the burst of chocolates and crumbles (Mocha Cookie Crumble followed by Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino) and few of the recipes below:

    Starbucks Frappuccino

Other Drinks: Among the other drinks, whether Iced or hot, plain coffee with water (Americano) or Tea, I used to love almost everything due to the supremacy in their blends with difference in each sip, like as some of the most popular recipes of Caramel Macchiato, Hot Chocolate, Flat white, Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso, London Fog, Royal English Breakfast Tea Latte etc below:

    Starbucks Coffees

    Starbucks Tea

    Conclusion: A Coffee-Fueled Adventure

My journey from an amateur newcomer to Starbucks barista has been nothing short of incredible. I've not only learned the art of coffee-making but also discovered the warmth and hospitality of Canadians. Coffee has become the bridge that connects me to this beautiful country, its people, and its culture.

As I continue my adventure in Canada, I look forward to exploring more coffee recipes, perfecting latte art, and creating memories that I'll cherish for a lifetime. For obvious reasons, I couldn't share all those recipes as some of those are confidential and through it all, I'll be sipping on a cup of Starbucks coffee, reminding myself that every brew tells a story.

    Starbucks Barista Fahad

Join me in raising a cup to new beginnings, diverse friendships, and the magic of coffee – a journey that's just getting started. Let me know if you want to know the secrets of getting recruited in Starbucks, or just a couple more recipes 🤫! See this video to have an idea on my overall experience at Starbucks! Cheers to Canadian coffee culture, and may your coffee always be brewed with love 💖.

  • My Home workout plan for Abs

My Home Workout Plan for Abs

My Home workout plan for Abs

Introduction: Looking to shape and tone your abs without leaving the comfort of your own home? Post-pandemic period has actually made us lazier than ever and I have already mentioned few of my tricks of overcoming that with your body in my other home workout plans that I followed for Back and biceps, Shoulder and Traps, Legs, Chest and shoulders, with or without equipment to name a few incase you were wondering. This article is going to be the last one in the home workout series to achieve your fitness goals.

    My home workout plan

The key is to focus on exercises that target all areas of your abs, including your upper and lower abs, as well as your obliques. Look out for my YouTube Video on abs workout at first if you want more demonstration on any of these items. The best part is that you don't even need a lot of space or preparation for doing any of those and can start right after reading this on your bed! Let's begin the ending of this category through some simple yet effective home workout plan that you can follow:

    1. Plank:

-Start by putting your hands/ elbows and knees on a flat surface.
    - Keep your shoulders up over your wrists and make sure to keep your wrists parallel with the front side.
    - Walk your knees back a few inches and tuck your toes under to lift your legs up off the ground.
    - Squeeze your quads and reach your heels towards the back to form a straight position like an elevated pencil.
    - Make sure your shoulders are over your wrists and that you're looking a few inches in front of your fingers to keep your head and neck elongated.
    - Hold this position for as long as possible (minimum 30 seconds).

    Plank Home workout

    2. Side plank:

-From the normal plank position, pull your core in toward your spine and combine your legs together as you bring the left foot to touch the right and vice versa.
    - Turn into the right outer edge of the right foot, keeping the left foot on top.
    - Press down through your right hand/ elbow, keeping it directly underneath your right shoulder, and slowly bring the left hand on the other side extending it as if you're touching the ceiling.
    - Pull the abs in towards the spine and right hip away from the floor.
    - Hold the position for as long as you can before coming through normal plank and switching sides.

    Side plank Home workout

    3. Extended Arm Plank Bird Dog:

    - Get to the same normal plank position.
    - Engage core and lift right arm and left leg off (vice versa) the mat at the same time, keeping hips as straight as possible.
    - Slowly return to start and continue like this for at least 10 reps.

    Extended Arm Plank Bird Dog

    4. Shoulder Tap:

    - From a plan position, touch left shoulder with right hand (and Vice versa), then place palm back on the floor keeping hips level.
    - After repeating on the other side (that's one rep), continue repeating the same up to 10 or more reps.

    Shoulder Tap Home workout

    5. Mountain Climbers:

    - Again from the plank position, keeping your back straight, lower your hips and engage your core, abs, glutes and hamstrings.
    - Bring your right knee under your chest towards your right elbow, return to the initial position and bring your left leg under your chest toward your left elbow.
    - Repeat this at a steady pace by alternating your legs.

    Mountain Climbers

    6. Plank to toe touch:

    - From the plank position, engage your lower abs and lift hips to pull body towards your legs by reaching right hand back to touch left ankle/ toe.
    - Slowly return to initial position, repeat on the other side and remember that your heels will stay high the whole time.
    - Continue the reps for 10 or more times.

    Plank to toe touch

    7. Russian Twist/ Seated Rotation:

    - Sit on a flat surface and lean upper body back until abs are engaged.
    - Lift your legs, tilt your upper body backward to a 45-degree angle.
    - Bend your legs at 90 degrees and slightly bend your arms. You can keep your hands tied with fingers or to make it challenging, try grabbing a weight/ water bottle anything with elbows wide.
    - Rotate torso to right side keeping your hands/ weight in front of your chest tapping those on the floor.
    - Move back through center and twist to the right, repeating the cycle for 10 or more time.

    Russian Twist home workout

    8. Bicycle Crunch:

    - Lie on a surface with hands behind head and elbows bent out to the sides. Lift your left shoulder blade off the ground by using your abs and bringing your right knee to meet your left elbow.
    - At this position, your left leg will be straight. lowering it as close to the floor as possible without resting it on the ground.
    - Return to the initial position and complete 10 reps or more.

    Bicycle Crunch Home workout

    9. Windshield wipers:

    - Lie on your back with your arms straight at your sides like a "T" with your body. Bend your legs and lift them just a little bit above the ground.
    - From this position, slowly lower your legs to the left, hovering a few inches off the floor, using abs to control the movement.
    - Reverse the movement of your legs just when your knees get close to the floor, moving them back though center and right side of the body.
    - Repeat this for 10 or more reps.

    Windshield wipers home workout

    10. Reverse crunch with towel:

    - Here comes my trademark Towel workout! But don't worry I've made it a little challenging for myself and you can carry this on with or without towel for your convenience.
    - Start by lying on back with holding the towel or if you don't have any, put them at your sides and legs a little off the ground at a 45-degree angle.
    - Keeping your toes pointed forward, engage your core, push down the ground with arms and pull your knees into chest until hips lift off the ground.
    - Slowly return to the initial position and complete reps accordingly.
    - You can modify the reps by rotating your core at the right and left to hit your obliques.

    Reverse crunch home workout

    11. Scissor Kicks:

    - Lie on your back with your legs a little off the ground at 45-degree angle. Let your arms rest down at your sides or under your butt whichever suits.
    - Squeeze your core and lift one leg up as you lower the other leg towards the floor like as you're cutting something with your legs like scissors.
    - Switch legs and repeat with reps accordingly.

    Scissor Kicks Home workout

    12. The L-stand:

    - This is the last item here, quite challenging and different from the others and also one of my favorites.
    - Sit on a flat surface with an "L" shape initially and keeping both your hands at your side.
    - You can close your fists for convenience and now, with all your strengths at your hands and core, slowly push the ground downwards.
    - If you do it correctly, you'll be able to lift your body altogether and remain in this position for as long as you can. Your body balance is very crucial and important and it needs a lot of practice. This item can be performed better if you have a push up bar to hold you even upper.
    - Perform this rep for 10 or more times.

    The L-stand Home workout

Conclusion: So, that's it. It is finally the last article on my home workout series. You can perform all these abs workout on a single day or divide those part by part according to your convenience. Follow my YouTube Home workout Video for abs for extended demonstration. • My Love Story and friendship with Dove birds

My Love Story and Friendship with Dove birds

Introduction: There's a saying that Birds of a feather flock together, which means people of the same tastes and interests will always be found together. But in my case, I didn't really find any real lover like that; those who I thought would be of my kind eventually ended up being traitors, little did I know that I would find peace in birds more than humans 😓. I remember playing a game with my friends where someone asked, "Which animal resembles you the most?" and every time I would speak about birds. The reason was simple, they are signs of beauty & freedom, could show you a different overall perspective of life, be loyal with proper care, ask very little in return (little food, water, maintenance and care) and be truthful to your love and  friendship.

My Love Story and Friendship with birds

Therefore, instead of looking for love in life, I started to look for friendship and Alhamdulillah I've been blessed with some genuine friends for life including some friendly birds! This title is all about my pure friendship with Birds, how I took care of them, gained trust, became their friends in small time with a bitter twist and climax at the end, stay tuned!

How it all started: It all started almost a year ago, when my brother caught the sight of a strangely beautiful bird, unable to fly, stuck right in front of our veranda. We tried to save this pigeon-looking creature together while it was trying to fly with failed attempts. So, we took it inside home, fed it some food and water and put inside a cage so that it couldn't get hurt. My father is knowledgeable in this field and he instantly said it's a Male Australian Dove (also known as ring-necked dove). I'll write about the identification of their types, gender, food and other things some other day.

Fertility: I've done my research and found out that they are few of the most productive species which can lay a pair of eggs in every month. They have some distinct rings at the back of their head and can make very lovely repeated sounds. So, after a week, when it got comfortable with us, we thought of pairing it with a female, from a nearby bird-shop. Quite surprisingly, just within 3 weeks, my eyes filled with joy like babies, looking at their first two eggs! Every member of my family got excited and started taking care of the mother bird individually. There are some pro-tips that I'll be sharing below.

At the same time, I consulted with the birds' salesman again regarding the extra healthcare needed for them, additional food for regaining their energy. I'm sharing the image of the medicine that I provided and you can look at the labelled directions for usage. Birds need some Grit (brick powder and egg shells for calcium) which bring back their old forms and excitement and playful attitude. So days went on and we waited for few days for them to hatch (usually it takes 14-21 days). Quite unfortunately, nothing happened and the same incident continued for another 3 times when my heart broke and I lost hope of seeing any babies soon.

    Dove bird Medicine and Grit

A new day: Months went by and I was travelling here and there, moving on with my life when suddenly, just after returning from a trip, my eyes got stuck at two pinkish structures on the pot, moving subtly while the mother bird was trying to feed them through mouth. It was the most heavenly and eye-soothing view for me in ages! 😍 I started counting days when I'd see them as grown ups, flying just like their parents. It takes at least 20 days for the babies to learn to eat by themselves. I just kept on staring at them everyday as a growing habit and just like the blink of eyes, they grew bigger and brighter! It was high time I bought another cage for them so that their parent could have some privacy 👀

    Australian Dove Babies

Birth of my friend: Days passed by and they kept on laying more eggs but nothing happened again. I wasn't really expecting anything more as I was already happy and satisfied. Suddenly, I heard another familiar soft screeches coming out of the cage and it wasn't surprising this time, it's another baby bird! Unfortunately, the other egg didn't hatch this time and the new-born baby didn't look much healthy and bright. I was a little concerned but thought the mother would take care of it anyways. Some more days went on again and almost after a month, I didn't see any improvement on the health of that baby bird and it wasn't even trying to eat itself as well. I was worried and started to bring it out regularly, keep it to myself for a certain time and inject food and water through a syringe. Just within a week, it learnt how to have food and I was tension-free once again. I thought of taming it and bringing it to me every alternate day and take care of it accordingly.

Those simply were the best days of my life with birds as I could see it grow right in front of my eyes and learn to fly step by step. It was unsure for most of the time but with me, I could see its confidence rising through anything while it tried to flip its wings once in a while and sit on my shoulders. I kept it with me every afternoon, while taking online classes and most of my students would enjoy its company. It happened for straight 4 months and I kept on looking after it and traveling to different places. Every time I got back, I saw all other birds moving away from me except this one. It was really close to my heart, one single piece.

    My Dove Friend

Climax: The reason why I'm using 'was' is that, while writing and thinking about this article even yesterday (22nd February, 2023), I was playing with the dove and for the first time, I saw it completely calm and wasn't moving much. I noticed a tiny wound on its wings, washed it through a sanitizer and thought it might be from the steel cage. I took in in my hand, gave some water, it drank that quite peacefully after which, it tilted its head sidewise looking at me for the last time. Yes, I was predicting that something was not right but trying heart and soul not to believe what was happening in front of my eyes in the blink of an eye. I tired my best to put air and water through the injection, the CPC method but nothing worked. The article which was supposed to be a friendly gesture towards birds turned out to be a sad reality I've always wanted to avoid. I tried taking the picture of it for the last time while my hands were shivering, to convey my unconditional love that I realized for the first time yesterday. I didn't want to end this article this way, but maybe that's what fate has written anyway.

    Death of my Dove Bird

Conclusion: It's a new day and I'm moving on with my life. Just 4-5 days ago, I made an introduction video for Native Camp, my online teaching platform with my bird, Dovey before which it didn't have any name. Most of my students would ask for it after joining classes and I enjoyed every bit of it. Life sometimes throws sweet surprises like this as friends in life and we often forget how blessed we are time to time. You might have heard of cuddle therapy that we can't execute with birds (the hormones that release by cuddling anyone) but sometimes eye therapy might work too, where you just sit and relax to see them growing and enjoying with you. So, if you have/ had a friend like this in your life, know that someday, everyone has to leave. But before that someday comes in your life, make sure you enjoy every moment with them to the fullest so that the good memories stay with you. Don't be sad because it's over but be happy because it happened. 🐦
